Stayed 2 nights at Holly Homestead it was the best. Thanks to Bernie great host and to Gerald great breakfast. The house is amazing well restored. Anybody going to Franz Josef, I recommend the heli-glacier tour.

We traveled in July and found Holly Homestead to be the cozy home base we needed. We had a warm greeting and mini-orientation to Franz Josef from Bernie. She has all the necessary info to figure your plans! Because we were visiting in winter, we had severe wind and rain to deal with, which caused some of our plans to be canceled. That was disappointing but having a day to lounge and read in our spacious, warm and comfortable room was an excellent replacement. The room was so carefully set up; we appreciated the high-quality soaps, linens and period specific decor. Holly Homestead is the place to stay if you enjoy a beautiful space in addition to merely being at the foot of a glacier.

We really appreciated our stay here, especially as the weather had turned very cloudy rainy and we wanted warmth and tips on what to do in less cheerful weather. The welcome from our hostess was tremendous and we really enjoyed the early evening wine provided as well as the huge amount of information about both the house and the surrounding area that she gave. We were extremely grateful for all the trouble she went to in trying to book us on a helicopter flight, although in the end, the poor visibility meant we were unable to go. Very comfortable rooms with very good facilities, as well as tasty breakfasts cooked by the host, meant that we had a great time despite the weather.

We were made very welcome and had a super room with a separate lounge and balcony which had the afternoon and evening sun. We were able to make hot drinks to go with the biscuits in the room as well as the facility in the dining room. A comprehensive breakfast menu with lovely fresh fruit salad. Bernie was a mine of local information and nothing was too much for her. An added bonus was that for a small fee, she offered a laundry service. Would certainly recommend Holly Homestead and will be passing on our praise to our travel agent.

This B&B is in a historic home that has been remolded with an eye to the fine details. The work has exposed a beautiful wood that has been hidden by paint for eons. Bernie and Gerald are very personable and willing to share their love and knowledge of the house and area with guests. The room we had was very nicely finished, with great views of the mountains. The bed was very comfortable and en-suite large and modern. Rooms are upstairs, but Bernie will assist with luggage if you need help. If you have any needs Bernie seems to be able to help. Oh did I mention that breakfast was amazing? We had four different entries to choose from, and according to everyone at the table, you could not go wrong with any of them.

We loved our two-night stay here. Bernie and Gerard are gracious hosts - Bernie welcomes you and helps with dinner reservations and activities and Gerard makes a delicious breakfast that is enjoyed with other guests from around the world. Lovely room, comfortable bed and historic, restored home with a great upper deck for relaxing and watching the sunset. Quiet location with an easy walk into town. Highly recommend!
